D-Orbit is hiring a systems engineer to join the CTO Engineering Office. As part of the CTO staff, you will contribute to the definition and development of the technical and technological roadmap of company spacecraft platforms and in general any technical solutions developed by the Technology Engineering team.
You will work on feasibility studies and preliminary technical assessments basing on inputs received from the Business Development unit and directly from the CTO staff. You will support the CTO office in monitoring the developments of D-Orbit spacecrafts (s/c) platforms and R&D projects.
As part of your duties, you will work together with relevant people from any other engineering department, including AOCS&GNC, Structure, Mechanism and Thermal, Software (ground and space), Propulsion, HW, RF&Telecom, and System Engineering. You will participate to the s/c platform development and have visibility over full design and development cycle of the systems platform, starting from the preliminary design and the requirements capture, systems and systems/subsystems design, analysis and trade-off, definition and execution of the s/c verification campaign, test plan and procedures, including tests on prototypes and real Flight Model s/c.
Moreover, you will support constant monitoring of company engineering processes to identify opportunities for improvement. You will post process data according to pre-defined metrics to create KPIs reports on overall engineering effectiveness. You will contribute to scouting for new tools/technologies to improve overall efficiency of processes / project teams. Eventually, your work as a systems engineer within the CTO office will have a direct impact in shaping the technical ecosystem, in terms of platforms, processes and team.
