Company Description

Ayesa is a globally-oriented, forward-thinking company deeply committed to fostering diversity, inclusion, equity, and sustainability. These principles form the bedrock of our dedication to our 11,300 employees and serve as the driving forces behind our spirit of innovation.

With a presence in 23 countries worldwide, Ayesa has earned a prominent international reputation in various engineering fields, including infrastructure, water conveyance and treatment systems, transportation, marine projects, waste management, aeronautics, and defense. Additionally, Ayesa is a well-established technology consultancy, specializing in facilitating the digital transformation of large corporations, particularly in the utilities sector, and providing technological solutions for public institutions.

As a technology and engineering firm, we complement our technological proficiency with the capacity to design physical infrastructures. This includes crafting distinctive buildings that imbue cities with character, designing iconic bridges that seamlessly blend into their surroundings, creating transportation systems such as high-speed roads, intelligent roadways, stations, and airports that serve as the backbone of regions, and engineering remotely controlled networks for energy and water distribution, driving urban and demographic development.

Position

As a vital member of the leadership team within the ME Marine Group at Ayesa, the Senior Project Manager will assume a pivotal role in expanding Ayesa's marine business, particularly in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Based full-time in Riyadh, KSA, the incumbent will engage in frequent in-country travel. The salary range offered for this position will be commensurate with the candidate's experience. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of marine & coastal engineering is required, with a preference for experience in the Middle East, particularly in KSA. Proficiency in Arabic language is preferred.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, effectively communicate, and coordinate with teams dispersed across multiple locations, including Dubai, Bahrain, the UK, and Ireland. Given the separate office setup in Riyadh from the bulk of the marine team, self-motivation is essential. The growth of the team in KSA will be contingent, to some extent, on the success of the candidate.

Project Management: The Senior Project Manager will oversee various marine projects within KSA, encompassing day-to-day commercial management such as budget control, invoicing, cost management, etc. Additionally, the role involves ensuring technical delivery meets client expectations, which includes interfacing with clients, coordinating with technical teams in Bahrain and Dubai, and ensuring functional requirements are met. Technical oversight, particularly in Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC), will be provided by existing technical leads.

Business Development (KSA specific): In line with Ayesa's strategic objectives, the Senior Project Manager will actively participate in business development initiatives specific to KSA. This includes identifying project opportunities, attending face-to-face meetings, and adopting a strategic and entrepreneurial approach to engineering consultancy.

Tendering (KSA specific): Collaborating closely with the ME tendering function led by our Principal Project Manager, the Senior Project Manager will contribute to the development of high-quality, targeted tenders aimed at bolstering Ayesa's marine & coastal division backlog. This involves assisting in tender creation, ensuring alignment with client requirements, and optimizing competitiveness in the market.

Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marine & coastal engineering, with a track record of successful project management in the Middle East.
  • Strong understanding of commercial management practices and technical delivery in the marine industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and cultures.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and drive results in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Arabic language is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within KSA and occasionally internationally as required.
